Amit’s initiation into Logistics started with the Indian Railways as an IRTS officer of 1992 batch. He worked in South Eastern Railways where he handled railway operations at Ports, Coal Mines, Steel Plants, Power Plants, etc., as Area Head at multiple locations like Talcher, Haldia, Bokaro, Jamsedpur, etc. He also oversaw control operations managing movement of passenger and freight trains at Divisions like Khurda Road, Kharagpur and Adra.

Amit, then, worked on deputation, from the Indian Railways, at CONCOR looking after Domestic rating and operations. He was exposed to terminal operations as well while heading the largest ICD in India during his stint with CONCOR.

Amit resigned from the Government of India in 2006 to join a company that was just setting out to enter the container train operators space. He left this company to set up Pristine in 2009.

Amit has a Bachelor in English Literature from Delhi University.
